Alamo Spain Rental Terms for travel between 01-Apr-2012 and 31-Dec-2012

Payment
An initial, non-refundable deposit will be secured at the time of booking confirmation. Accepted credit cards are Visa and MasterCard (transaction fee of 1.75% applies).

The balance will be secured directly by the supplier on arrival.

Additional Driver Policy
The price per additional driver will be Euro 6.00 + VAT Per day, with a maximum charge of Euro 54.00 + VAT. Maximum 3 additional drivers per rental. See Age Requirements for restrictions on car groups.

Age Requirements
Minimum rental age is 21yrs for car groups EBMR, EDMR, ECMR, CCMR, CDMR, CDAR, CMMR, IWMR, IWAR, IVAR and IVMR. 25 years for PDMR and 23 years for all other car groups. A Young Driver surcharge will be applicable to drivers between 21 to 25 years of age at a charge of Euro 9 + VAT per day, with a maximum charge of Euro 90 + VAT per rental, and no maximum age limit (subject to the driving license expiration and license requirements).

Condition of Vehicle
Vehicle must be returned, normal wear & tear expected, in the same condition as when rented. If special cleaning is required a separate charge will be made directly to the customer

Cross Border Policy
Vehicles are permitted to be driven into Portugal, Andorra & Gibraltar (no outside Spain insurance required). Vehicles are also permitted to be driven into Austria, Germany, Belgium, France, Netherlands, Italy, Luxembourg, Monaco & Switzerland (no other countries are permitted) but "OUTSIDE SPAIN INSURANCE" must be purchased & costs are as follows: 1-10 days Euro 40.00 + VAT. 11-27 days Euro 65.00 + VAT. 28 days+ Euro 95.00 + VAT, this is purchased at the counter. Customer MUST advise the car will be driven out of Spain at the point of contract, in any case.
Please be advised that the following areas in Germany: Berlin, Cologne and Hannover will require an 'Emissions Sticker' stating the emission of the vehicle intended to enter these areas. Without this sticker, the driver of the vehicle will be fined up to EUR 40.00 even if the car is registered abroad. Should the car not have the 'Emissions Sticker', then this can be purchased at most garages.

License Requirements
Non-Roman script licenses as well as all licenses from countries out of the EU must have an International license & their license from country of domicile. All drivers must have held their full license for a minimum of two (2) years.

Together with their driving license, all drivers will be required to show their passport, as a general rule, or ID card, if it is written in roman characters and only for EU countries.

Spanish Law now states that, rental cars must have a copy of the rental agreement, within valid rental dates. If requested by police or Guardia Civil, the Lessee must show the valid rental agreement. If this is out-of date, the Lessee will be fined with 1.001 €.

So it is mandatory that any possible rental extension is processed at our rental locations by the customer, in person. It couldn’t be processed by phone, by e-mail, etc. while, even if it is registered in ATESA’s records, if it’s not carried inside the car, the authorities will issue a fine. This penalty cannot be removed by showing documents after the fine is applied.

One Way Rentals
Domestic one ways are available for all locations situated within Continental Spain with a EUR 50.00 + tax drop charge applicable to all tour bookings, for all cars and all lengths of rental. 
One ways between locations situated in the same city are free of charge. 
For the Canary Islands, one ways are allowed between locations situated in the same island free of charge.
One ways are not allowed between Islands and Continental Spain or among Islands.
For the Balearics, one ways are not allowed.
One ways are to be pre-booked.
International One Ways - Please consult the International One Way Policy (IOWP). These groups are not allowed for International One Way rentals: SVMR and FVMR.

Car group SVMR can not be picked up or dropped off at MADX73/MADX03 due to height parking restrictions at this station.

Out of Hours Policy
An additional charge of Euro 45.00 + VAT applies for out of hours. After hours are on request only

Payment Policy
All major Credit cards (VISA, AMEX, Master Card, Diners), National Charge Cards and National Vouchers are also accepted. Travelers Cheques and Eurocheques are not accepted. Cash rentals are not allowed. An international valid credit card is required and a deposit on the credit card will be held. If cards do not permit deposits, then charges will have to be made. A credit card is always required for deposits. The deposit will be the estimated rental fees plus EUR 100.00, which is held on the credit card until the car is returned. See Refueling Policy for Fuel Deposits.

Refueling Policy
For ATESA locations: Car is supplied with a full tank, the customer must return full or cost will be Euros 14.50 plus VAT plus the price of missing fuel.
For CICAR Locations: CICAR will often not supply the car with a full tank and expects the customer to return the vehicle with the same amount of fuel.

Roadside Assistance
In case of accident or breakdown, emergency telephone numbers are: From anywhere on the Spanish Mainland: dial 90 215 2898. From any other country: dial + 34 91 594 9363 (24 hours). A replacement car will be provided if necessary.

Special Equipment
Infant seat (CSI) Up to 18 Kg = Euro 6.00 per day plus tax, with a maximum of Euro 42.00 + tax per rental. On Request.
Child/Toddler seat (CST) up to 36 Kg = Euro 6.00 per day plus tax, with a maximum of Euro 42.00 + tax per rental.  On Request.
Booster Seat (BST) over 36 Kg = Euro 6.00 per day plus tax, with a maximum of Euro 42.00 + tax per rental.  On Request.
Ski Rack (SKV) = Euro 45.00 per rental plus tax.  On Request.
Snow chains (SNO) = Euro 45.00 per rental plus tax.  On Request.
Luggage rack (LUG) = Not Available.

GPS = Euro 7.00 per day plus tax, maximum of Euro 70.00 + tax. On Request.
GPS is only available at the following locations:
Madrid Airport, Madrid Atocha RRS, Madrid Chamartín RRS, Madrid Nuevos Ministerios RRS, Madrid Plaza de España, Barcelona Muntaner, Barcelona Airport, Barcelona Sants RRS, Gerona Airport, Santander Airport, Bilbao Airport, Zaragoza RRS, Alicante Airport, Valencia Airport, Valencia RRS, Sevilla Airport, Malaga Airport, Sevilla Santa Justa RRS, Malaga RRS, LA Coruña Airport, Vigo Airport, Santiago de, Compostela Airport, Asturias Airport, Palma de Mallorca Airport, Jerez Airport, Murcia Off-Airport, Granada Off-Airport, Córdoba RRS, Almería Airport and Valladolid RRS.

Additional charges may apply as follows:
For one way rentals with GPS, there is an additional charge of Euro 20.00 + tax (paid locally).
If returning the car (with GPS) to an office outside the peninsula, there is a charge of Euro 250.00 + tax (paid locally).
Incase of Theft, loss, breakdown or breakage of the entire accessory or GPS unit, there is a charge of Euro 250.00 + tax (paid locally). 
In case of Theft, loss, breakdown or breakage of any other component of the GPS unit, there is a charge of Euro 30.00 + tax (paid locally). 

All equipments require 24 hours advance notice.
Children under 3 years must use a restraint system adapted to their weight and size. For Children up to 3 years old, whose height is less than 150cm, it is mandatory for the use of a restraint system adapted to their weight and size or, at least the use of a seatbelt.

We provide one fluorescent jacket per rental as the law requires, non returned jackets are charged at 8.00 Euro.
Emergency Triangles are also provided - non returned triangles sets will be charged at the market price.

Surcharges
Airport surcharge Euro 25.00 + Tax per rental.

Tax
Sales Tax 16% (Canaries only 13%)
From 1st July 2010: Sales Tax will be 18% (Canaries only 13%). 
Please note: sales tax is now calculated by the drop off date (rather than by pick up date).  The tax will be re-calculated at the counter if applicable as the system can only charge this depending on the pick up date.

Insurances & Waivers
CDW – Collision Damage Waiver
Collision Damage Waiver reduces the amount of the renter’s damage responsibility to the sum of the deductible.  If CDW is declined, then the renter may be liable for the whole value of the damage/loss.  CDW is optional if not included in the rates. If chosen by the customer, CDW must be mandatory bought together with Theft Protection (TP)

Third Party Liability
Third Party Cover is included in all rates and covers the driver for third party claims against him/her for damage caused by the hire vehicle. TPL is included in the rate. Cover is limited to 50 million Euros.

Super Damage Waiver
Super Collision Damage Waiver and Theft Protection.  This insurance covers the deductible on CDW to zero in case of theft of the vehicle or collision. Not applicable when due to the driver's negligence. Prices are as follows:

TP – Theft Protection
Reduces the renter’s responsibility for loss/damage of/to the car by or following theft /attempted theft, to the sum of the deductible. If TP is declined, then the renter may be liable for the whole value of the damage/loss. TP is optional if not included in the rates. If chosen by the customer, TP must be mandatory bought together with Collision Damage Waiver (CDW).

Glass & Tyre Cover – Not Available

When you pick up your vehicle, you will be required to sign a rental agreement with the supplier of the vehicle. Your rental and use of the vehicle will be governed by the terms of the rental agreement and any other documentation or information provided to you by the supplier at the time you pick up your vehicle. The rental agreement is between you and the supplier and we will not be liable to you or to any third party in relation to the terms of the supplier's rental agreement or any other documentation provided to you by the supplier at the time of pick up.

While we will make reasonable efforts to ensure we are representing only reputable suppliers, we make no warranty about the fitness or suitability of any third party (supplier) product or service and will not accept responsibility for the quality or fitness of any vehicle. We welcome feedback from our customers on their experience with our suppliers. We may, at our discretion, provide you with reasonable assistance in resolving any dispute you may have with a supplier.

Our total liability to you in relation to your use of this website and the information contained on this website will not exceed the dollar amount of the deposit we have received from you in relation to your booking/rental. Refunds will not be made for bookings cancelled due to inclement weather. Again, we strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance. Your use of this website is governed by the laws of New Zealand and the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.

Booking information
To make a booking you must complete our booking form which is easy to follow and secured with the latest encryption technology. Once we receive your form, we will, subject to availability, confirm your booking by emailing you a confirmation voucher and invoice.

If you are booking via phone, please make sure you have read the terms and conditions of the vehicle you wish to rent first. Our reservations consultant will ask you if you have read the terms and agree to them before proceeding. The onus is always on the renter to ensure they make themselves fully aware of the terms displayed on our website.

Information disclosure
In booking on this website you acknowledge that we disclose your information to your selected Supplier in order to provide the requested rental services.

Vehicle capacity and fitness to drive
Under no circumstances are you permitted to carry more passengers than the vehicle you rent is legally registered to carry, and if you do your insurance may be invalidated. The number of seatbelts (and passengers) is indicated next to each vehicle on this website. Luggage capacity where shown is an indication only and we will not be responsible should you be unable to fit your entire luggage into a vehicle. It is your responsibility to choose a journey that is within your capabilities. A vehicle supplier can refuse to rent a vehicle to any person who is in their opinion unfit to drive or does not meet eligibility requirements. In such circumstances we will have no further liability to you.

Refund Policy
We are committed to providing a quality service and aim for complete customer satisfaction. In the event of cancellation, any refunds or penalties are detailed in the terms and conditions of your selected vehicle that you are asked to read and accept at time of booking. In the event you are unsatisfied with our service, please contact us within 48 hours of placing your booking or request and we will work to resolve any issues and determine if compensation is due. In the event you have completed your rental and are unhappy with your vehicle, we are happy to assist you in seeking compensation from the operator of the vehicle.
